I did some weeding this evening. I filled an entire yard waste bag with dandelions. That’s a lot of dandelions from my little lawn.

  1. Wow. That is a lot of dandilions! Good for you for pulling them and not spraying them, though. Dandilions are strange things… we recently discovered two dandilions growing at the foot of one of our pines that were each about two feet tall. No flowers on them, but they were a couple of inches around the stems – pretty freaky…

  2. Oh we don’t spray. Big greenies here. If Mat were home I would have had a lot of salad but I’m not keen enough on dandelion leaves to do that myself. If you only have a few though, they are nice. Bitter so good mixed with other greens.

  3. I have a friend who makes a tea with chopped and dried roots. She says it’s delicious with rice milk. I haven’t tried it, but there are enough dandelions in my yard for me to think about it.

  4. We give them to our guinea pig, but I often toy with the idea of making wine out of them. They also make a good liver tonic, but that’s as far as I’ve gotten with that idea.

I was noticing how big and green and lush ours were. It’s been a good season for them.
