While sitting knitting as Mat cooked dinner (and sketched), I listened to this week’s edition of Thinking Allowed, a BBC Radio 4 program that reviews social science research. It is a very interesting interview with Richard Sennet about craftsmanship, which links to some interesting discussion about parenting and education. Well worth a listen.

You can listen to it at any time in the next week on the BBC site (linked above) or download the podcast and listen at your leisure.

  1. Listened to that in bed this morning myself – interesting, indeed. I found the counterpoint between the considered, academic Sennet contributions and the enthusiastic jumping in of Grayson Perry entertaining too!
